If your boys are anything like my own, falling temperatures aren’t going to keep them inside, so it’s officially time to make sure they have some cool new hoodies to keep them warm on brisk days. We’re pretty sure none of the other kids, boy or girl, will have one of these comfy, stylish hoodies, but if they do, commend them for their great taste.
We raved about the boys’ tees from Warrior Poet last spring, and we’re loving their Lion’s Tooth hoodie (at top) for the fall. The houndstooth pattern is on trend, and that lion is fierce.
This J Crew colorblock hoodie is a great compromise for boys who love baseball and moms who aren’t so keen on licensed team gear. We’re betting it’s softer and warmer than any official garb.
This comfy hoodie from Polarn O. Pyret is another smart option for colorblock fans, especially since the hood is detachable and the fall colors are all about football, hold the team names and mascots.
We like to think of the awesome Half + Half hoodie from Nununu as the black and white
Chasing Fireflies is definitely on the high end, but we just love their unique designs and attention to detail. The dino hoodie is perfect for little guys, complete with footprint pockets and a tail on the back. The shark teeth hoodie is more understated, designed with older kids in mind, but still playful. Love the shark teeth pocket details.
Tea Collection is a perennial favorite of ours for both boys and girls clothing, and their Super Roboter graphic hoodie is another winner. We especially like the subtle print graphics and the contrast of the bright red zipper. Even better, this cool hoodie is currently on sale. Score!
The Hooded Henleys at appaman are a cross between a tee and a hoodie, which might be just what your boy needs to go from classroom to kickball without stopping to put on another layer. Or who knows, it just might become his main hoodie.
Fun designs always abound at Hiho Batik, but this Taxi hoodie was definitely our favorite, and the stoplight is a fun detail on the front too. No Brooklyn zip code required for wear.
We love finding good buys at Mini Boden, and these four cool hoodies certainly qualify. Liz loves the Union Jack, I’m partial to the skull and crossbones, and we both bet superhero-loving kids would dig the star and lightning bolt. So you really can’t go wrong with any of them.
While we tend to opt for zip hoodies (so much easier to put on and take off), we couldn’t pass up this Monster Hoodie from H&M. The front pocket even pulls out to resemble a monster tongue, which is sure to make it a hit with the preschool set.
Finally, this well-worn tie dye skull hoodie from Peek Kids is on major sale, and there are actually quite a few sizes left, so snap one up if your kids are little punk rockers or surfer dudes in the making.
