Sodium is one of those things you must avoid in a baby’s diet. Sodium in small amounts is fine, but sodium beyond permissible limits can be dangerous. A slice of bacon contains 192 milligrams of sodium. Huge amounts of sodium can lead to high blood pressure and even kidney failure in extreme cases.
2. Nitrates And Nitrites:
Cured meats like bacon contain nitrates that help to extend their shelf life and enhance the flavor. Nitrites and nitrates can be very harmful to babies. They can damage the blood vessels surrounding the heart, causing the baby’s arteries to harden and narrow. It can also lead to diabetes in the future.
