Before your baby receives the Hepatitis A vaccine, inform your doctor about his health conditions or medications like:

  • Nasal or oral steroid medicines.
  • If your baby suffers from health diseases, like rheumatoid arthritis or any other autoimmune disorders.
  • If your baby suffers from allergic reactions from any of the active ingredients of Hepatitis A, vaccination and develop symptoms of skin hives or allergies.

If your baby is having any of such health diseases or medication, he or she may not be able to receive the Shots of Hepatitis A vaccination. In some cases, the vaccination is given after completion of the treatment or medicine dosage.

Dosage Of Hepatitis A Vaccine For Babies:

Doctors prescribe the hepatitis A pediatric vaccine in the form of a two shots. The first shot of the vaccination is given when your baby’s age is around 12 and 23 months. The second booster shot given six months later.

If your baby suffers from mild fever, the doctor may further prescribe aspirin-free pain reliever including ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil) or acetaminophen (Tylenol).
