Causes For Nasal Congestion In Babies:

There can be a lot of reasons behind your infant’s congested nose. One thing that you must keep in mind is that a nasal congestion does not alw

ays indicate an illness. So, do not go into the full-fledged “panicked-mom” mode when you notice that your child has a nasal congestion. It may be due to any of the following reasons:

  1. The most obvious conclusion is that your baby may have a bout of cold or flu. This is quite normal as your child’s immune system still has the “under-construction” sign on it!
  2. It may be that your baby is allergic to something that is causing the congestion. Try to figure out what may be the cause for such an allergy.
  3. Sometimes dry air or irritants in the air that is breathed in by the infant leads to a congested nose.
  4. Enlarged adenoids, more commonly referred to as sinusitis, may be another contributing factor to the congestion.

Whatever the reason may be, you need to always remember that your baby is just a few days old. He or she needs time to adjust to the surroundings around him or her.
