1. Toilet Paper Roll Spooky Bat:

Who would have thought that an empty toilet paper roll could look so spooky, right?

What You Will Need:

  • An empty toilet paper roll
  • Black chart paper
  • Glue
  • A pair of safety scissors
  • A light colored or neon shade of chart paper or any thick paper
  • Black paint and paintbrush (optional)

How To:

  • Take an empty toilet paper roll and help your kid cut out the sides or tuck them in, as shown in the image.
  • Depending on your kid’s preference, the toilet paper roll can either be painted black or can be wrapped over with a black chart paper.
  • If your kid is using a black paint, ensure all sides are painted in black.
  • If your kid is using the black chart paper, ensure the ends are properly glued in and all parts are covered.
  • On a separate piece of black chart paper, help your kid cut out the shape of a bat wing.
  • Make this big enough that it can work for both sides of the wings.
  • Ask your kid to cut out circles from the lighter shade of paper.
  • These will be stuck on the head to create the base for the eye.
  • Two small black dots of chart paper will also be stuck on these to form the eye balls.
  • Help your kid glue the big wing at the back of the bat to create two wings.

2. Colorful Spooky Bat Art:

This is a colorful yet spooky twist to the regular bat crafts seen especially during Halloween.

What You Will Need:

  • Black or any dark shade of chart paper
  • Poster colors in different bright shades
  • Sponge
  • A pair of safety scissors
  • A paint mixing palette
  • Old newspaper or any waste paper

How To:

  • Help your kid trace out the shape of a bat on an old newspaper or any waste paper.
  • Help cut your kid this out.
  • Remember to cut out the shapes depending on how many bat shadows your kid wants to create on the paper.
  • Now place the cut out on the dark shade of chart paper.
  • Spill out the paints on the mixing palette.
  • Using a sponge, help your kid soak in some color and dab it on the dark paper.
  • Let your kid do this for all the colors and create a pattern as per preference.
  • Ask your kid to dab all over the paper, even on the cutouts.
  • Once all the painting has been done, help your kid remove the cut outs.
  • Your kid will see a nice bat shadow on the dark colored chart paper.

3. Egg Carton Bat:

What You Will Need:

  • Empty egg carton
  • Grey paint
  • Googly eyes
  • Glue
  • A pair of safety scissors
  • Cord

How To:

  • Help your kid cut out three parts from an empty egg carton.
  • Ask your kid to paint this section in gray.
  • Once the paint is dry, help your kid stick on the googly eyes on the center part.
  • Using the safety scissors help create a small gash on the top of this head.
  • Help your kid loop the cord through this gash to hang up the craft.
